A quick intro:
Welcome to the new site for the Case
Western Reserve University chapter of the Campus Freethought Alliance.
First off I would like to ask everyone to take a moment and
register a user account. By registering you will
gain the ability to post to the forums, participate in polls,
comment on stories and blogs, as well as start your own blog.
Once registered it would be much appreciated if you will
report any bugs/errors you find in the site
here,
as well as any suggestions
here.
If you prefer to not create an account but would still like
to send a suggestion or bug report just send us an
email.
Now onto more about the
site and what it has to offer:
Normally this is where I, as well as
others will be posting news and stories about topics in skepticism,
freethought, and atheism. In fact anyone can submit material
to be added here by sending their article to
cwrucfa.admin@gmail.com.
After your article has been reviewed and edited we will post
it here. General guidelines will be coming soon in the FAQ
page. Besides the main page we also offer a links page with
links to freethought and atheist websites and podcasts. These
sites and podcasts may not represent the exact views of our
organization but are entertaining, thought provoking, and worth a look.
We also have a page outlining our most current upcoming event
as well as final thoughts about past events. The events page
has a corresponding forum
here.
Speaking of which, our forum provides a place to discuss
topics with others, instead of clogging the comment areas with
arguments. We hope to keep the discussions relatively civil
except for, of course, the unmoderated forum where everything(sans
spamming) goes. Finally we come to our blogs page where any
registered user can post articles about whatever they want, instead of
having to go though the submission process for the main page.
Well thats about all we have for now. Feel free to
create an account, poke around and make yourself at home.
And now some
technical stuff:
First of all, this site was
checked to work properly with Mozilla Firefox 2 on a 1024 X 768
monitor. Consider these the minimum requirements for viewing
this site at its full potential. With anything less than this
I cannot guarantee that it will display correctly. I have
also viewed this site with Safari 3 beta, Opera 9.5 beta, and Internet Explorer 7,
all of which appeared to work. If you are using Internet
Explorer 6 I can almost guarantee you will have problems viewing this
site correctly. In this case I would highly recommend
following the link on the right to get Firefox, or upgrade to IE7 if you feel that you must have internet explorer.
Second, the site management system we
are using allows for RSS syndication. Currently you can
subscribe to this page as well as the blog page. The links
can be found in the FAQ page but I would suggest using the feed
indicator in the address bar of your browser.
ATTN:
If you registered an account before
1-5-2007 then you will have to re-register because of some
administrative requirements.
